JHVH?
Hej,

In some cases, such as the "Sacred Marriage" of the king of a Sumerian city-state and the High Priestess of Inanna, it served a more practical purpose: since commoners frequently took this opportunity to have sex with their own spouses, it coordinated the births of children so that they would be born in the winter, when there was more time to take care of them.
A possible modern example of hierogamy is in the religion of Wicca, in which participants engage in what is called the Great Rite. Most often done on Beltane night (May 1), a man and a woman, assuming the identities of God and Goddess, engage in sexual intercourse to celebrate the union of the deities as lovers and the conception of the new God who will be born at Yule. It is essentially a fertility rite, meant to symbolize the planting of seed into Mother Earth, which will come to fruition in the autumn.
The Great Rite is more often celebrated in a purely symbolic context within Wicca and Neo-Paganism where a ritual dagger is placed point first into a challice, symbolizing the divine union of the Hieros gamos. This symbolic rite is practiced at many Sabbats and Esbats.
It is furthermore one of the themes that Carl Jung dealt with, in his book Symbols of Transformation.
The etymology is from Greek: "hieros" = holy and "gamos" = marriage, coupling.

God thus becomes a dual-gendered deity, bringing together all the male and female energy in the universe, the yin and the yang that have divided the sexes from Adam and Eve to Homer and Marge.
“This is the kind of God I believe in, the kind of God that makes sense to me, in a language that speaks very, very deeply to human aspirations and striving,” Sameth said. “How could God be male and not female?”
Citat af again ”kilde” slut.
Kommentar: Homer & Marge?
Homer & Margeperformed by Al Yankovic
NOTE: The first 2 paragraphs were performed during the episode and the rest during the credits.
Lyrics:
Little ditty
'Bout Homer and Marge
Her heart was as big
As his stomach was large
Oh yeah
They say love goes on
Long after the grilled cheese sandwich is gone
That's the story
'Bout Homer and Marge
Two folks I helped out
For a nominal charge
After Homer went gay
They patched up their schism
But the dude never dealt with
His alcoholism
Weird Al sayin'...
Oh yeah
The credits go on
Long after the viewer's interest is gone
Oh yeah
Weird Al had fun on this show
Even if it was just a brief cameo
Homer & Marge is, as of now, officially unreleased.
The song was originally performed on the television series "The Simpsons" in the episode "Three Gays Of The Condo" (episode 1417, production EABF12).
The episode originally aired on Sunday, April 13, 2003.
It is a parody of "Jack & Diane" by John Mellencamp with original lyrics by the staff of "The Simpsons" and was performed by "Weird Al" Yankovic.
Citat slut.

"Now that’s been solved, what will Madonna and the other kabbalists do? And where did the alephs go?"
